Nose Tip Dropping

After severing the connections between the nasal tip cartilages and the cartilage we call septum, if these connections are not re-established during the surgery, nasal tip drooping may occur. During the surgery, additional supports must be provided to provide the necessary strength to the tip of the nose. If a person already has a long nose, its tip tends to fall down.

In some people, the cartilage length of the tip of the nose is longer than normal. That's why the tip of the nose looks downwards. The surgeon who will perform the operation should evaluate these people separately and plan the procedures during the surgery accordingly. If the cartilage length of these people with long nasal tip cartilages is not shortened, the nose will appear upturned with the help of the splint placed after the surgery. Later, as the cartilage will return to its original structure, the tip of the nose will tend to fall downwards. We can say that this problem is more common after surgeries performed with the closed method.
